Since I left South Africa I had to leave my little Sophie behind for the time being. Sophie is a cat, for the uninformed! 😉 Since last year February she has been my constant little companion. Loudly complaining when I come home too late, or her gentle curiosity when I wash dishes or do anything remotely interesting like going to the bathroom. I can count on my one hand the times that I was allowed to go to the bathroom alone since she came into my life! The excitement she has for life, from chasing a fly around the house with a energy that reminds me of a tiger in the wilderness. There is a German word for a house cat called “Stubentiger”, I love the description, directly translated into English it means “Room tiger”!
Its been almost a full two months that I have been without her, and I miss her dearly! My new colleagues have probably heard stories of her to the point of zoning out when I mention the word Sophie! Finally now she is confirmed to fly mid-September and I am very excited to have her home again! All the paperwork, the preparation, the documents, the waking up without her nose gently nudging me awake is almost over!
I am looking forward to lots of playtime and her reminding me of the joys found in the simplicity of life!
“I have lived with several Zen masters — all of them cats.”
